Chibi Anime Cartooning Is Here!

Friends, keep an eye out for a new class I’ll be offering next Winter 2027 as Mr. Patrick's Chibi Anime! In this fun, creative class, young cartoonists will learn how to create characters in the adorable Japanese Anime art style known as Chibi. They will explore how to draw them smaller, cuter, simpler, and more exaggerated.

What is Chibi Anime?
Chibi (ちび) is a Japanese term meaning tiny, small, or little. In art, it describes a stylized way of drawing characters with exaggeratedly cute, childlike proportions—usually with a large head, big expressive faces, small body, simplified features with playful poses.

Then what?!
Young artists also get to dive even deeper into the world of visual storytelling creating a fun take-home comic book project showcasing their new found knowledge of Chibi Anime style art. So let's do this!

Mr.Patrick's Chibi Anime Cartooning classes are offered during the fall, winter, and spring sessions. Each class meets once a week for one hour, over a period of 8–10 weeks (depending on holidays).
